Medical centre & Camps
Sevabharathi Tamilnadu runs many free medical centres in the State, where allopathic, homoeopathic and indigenous
Siddha medicines are dispensed by qualified doctors.
Apart from this, medical camps are being conducted periodically to reach the masses directly. In these camps, doctors drawn from various specialities attend to hundreds of patients with different ailments. Thousands have benefited.
The medical centres and camps are especially useful in the hilly regions, where people have to walk several miles to reach a hospital or health centre.
Sevabharathi Tamilnadu also operates an ambulance in Ambur in Vellore district. The ambulance is provided free of cost for childbirth. For other emergencies, it is made available at a highly subsidised rate or even free if the patient cannot afford it. The villages around Ambur use the services of the ambulance extensively.
